Day 1
Arrival & River Safari Begins
Your journey starts with a scheduled pickup from Sandakan, Sepilok, or Kinabatangan, followed by a scenic drive to Sukau Greenview Lodge. After check-in, enjoy your first afternoon river cruise along the Kinabatangan River—an ideal time to spot proboscis monkeys, hornbills, and other wildlife. After dinner, the adventure continues with a peaceful night cruise to discover the river’s nocturnal creatures under the stars.
Day 2
Jungle Exploration & Gomantong Cave
Rise early for a morning cruise to witness the rainforest waking up with the songs of birds and the movement of primates along the riverbanks. After breakfast, embark on a guided jungle walk to explore the flora and fauna up close. In the afternoon, immerse yourself in the local culture with a visit to the Orang Sungai Gallery, where you’ll learn about the traditions of the River People. The highlight of the day follows—a trip to the mystical Gomantong Cave, home to bats, swiftlets, and Sabah’s famous bird’s nest industry. After dinner, end the day with a guided night walk through the lodge’s surrounding trails.
Day 3
Optional Cruise & Departure
For early risers, an optional morning cruise is available for another chance to spot wildlife. After breakfast, check out and begin your return journey to Sandakan or Kinabatangan main town. Your memorable Bornean river adventure comes to a close—rich with sightings, stories, and cultural experiences.

Yes, the tour is generally suitable for all age groups, including families with children and older travelers. Most activities—like river cruises and guided walks—are easy and relaxing. However, please note that the Gomantong Cave visit includes a stair hike to reach one of the wildlife observation platforms. While not overly difficult, it can be a bit strenuous for those with mobility issues or health concerns. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and taking your time during this part of the tour.
What happens if it rains during the trip?
Rain is common in the rainforest, and activities usually continue in light rain. However, for safety reasons, cruises or jungle walks may be postponed or replaced with alternative activities if the weather is severe. Optional activities can be moved to the following day if possible.
