The Kinabatangan River is home to an incredible variety of wildlife. You may spot proboscis monkeys, orangutans, pygmy elephants, hornbills, crocodiles, and various species of birds. Nocturnal cruises and night walks also offer chances to see owls, civets, and fireflies.

Yes, the tour is generally suitable for all age groups, including families with children and older travelers. Most activities—like river cruises and guided walks—are easy and relaxing. However, please note that the Gomantong Cave visit includes a stair hike to reach one of the wildlife observation platforms. While not overly difficult, it can be a bit strenuous for those with mobility issues or health concerns. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes and taking your time during this part of the tour.

Rain is common in the rainforest, and activities usually continue in light rain. However, for safety reasons, cruises or jungle walks may be postponed or replaced with alternative activities if the weather is severe. Optional activities can be moved to the following day if possible.

We recommend lightweight, breathable clothing for hot and humid weather, along with a rain jacket or poncho. Bring insect repellent, sunblock, a refillable water bottle, and a headlamp or flashlight for the night walk. Binoculars are available for rent.
